Global Hollywood is Topic for 5th Entertainment Conference
Actress Drew Barrymore to Make Special Presentation
 
HOLLYWOOD, CA-- Plans have been announced for the fifth annual State of the Entertainment Industry Conference, presented by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Variety. The conference is the pre-eminent local forum that focuses on the importance of the Entertainment Industry to California and steps that need to be taken to keep it healthy.
 
The conference will be held at Loews Hollywood Hotel, 1755 N. Highland Ave., on Wednesday, November 30. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the sessions running from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The conference includes breakfast and lunch. Co-chairs are Sharon Keyser, Senior VP, Real Estate Government & Community Relations for Paramount Pictures and Doug Troy, COO and CFO for Trailer Park.
 
“Our planning committee has been working for six months to put together the most comprehensive program on the issues and opportunities affecting this industry,” said Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber. “We are delighted with the high caliber of speakers and public officials who will be present.”
 
The conference will be opened with a greeting from Mitch O’Farrell, Los Angeles City Councilmember representing Hollywood. In addition, California State Senate President Pro Tempore Kevin de León will deliver keynote remarks.
 
At noon, Actress Drew Barrymore from the upcoming Netflix series, “Santa Clarita Diet” will present The Commitment to California Award to Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer, Netflix. Producer Vin Di Bona will again be the emcee.
 
Steve Barnett, Chairman and CEO of Capitol Music Group, will be accepting recognition on behalf of Capitol Records marking the 75th anniversary of the legendary recording company. Fariba Kalantari, DDS, Chair of the Hollywood Chamber Board to present the recognition award to Barnett.

A special one-on-one interview on “The State of the Music Industry” will be conducted between Zach Katz, President, U.S. Repertoire & Marketing, BMG Entertainment and Steve Gaydos of Variety.
A panel will discuss “Hollywood Without Borders: The Global Entertainment Industry.” Debra Birnbaum, Executive Editor, Television of Variety will moderate. Panelists include: David Eilenberg, President, ITV Entertainment, Michael Grindon, President of Worldwide Distribution, Legendary TV; Dana Goldberg, Chief Creative Officer, Skydance Media;  Jason Goldberg,  Chief Creative Officer, Digital and New Media Group, STX Entertainment and Michael Kagan, Founding Partner, ICM Partners.
 
A spotlight conversation will be held between Amy Lemisch, Executive Director of the California Film Commission and Paul Audley, President of FilmL.A., Inc. on the successful rollout of the State’s new film incentives, with information on what comes next.  Actor Jon Huertas, will join in on the spotlight conversation between Lemisch and Audley.
