Event Description:
We invite YOU to join our Family Day of Service: Blast Off with Books, annual book drive, to promote literacy in our community! This FREE family-friendly volunteer event will help us provide over 11,000 books and 500 bookmarks for our Foster Children Resource Center, Operation School Bell, and Preschool Learning Center programs. We kindly request brand new books for readers of all ages, with a special emphasis on early teens. These books will be lovingly given to children who are experiencing homelessness or are in foster care, bringing them joy, comfort, and the opportunity to escape into new worlds.

Fees/Admission:
You can support in person on Saturday, February 22nd from 10:00am-1:00pm by: Dropping off NEW children's books in-person to 6640 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028. We are most in need of: Bilingual books for preschoolers to high schoolers (Spanish/English), Early reader/picture books for infants to 2nd graders, Chapter books for 3rd to 5th graders, Leisure reading books for high schoolers and young adults. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot use textbooks, religious, adult, or library books. Volunteering! We need volunteers of all ages to help us make 500 bookmarks. All volunteers must register through Eventbrite
