Central American Voices Film Festival
Central American Voices Film Festival — Inaugural Edition Join us for the inaugural Central American Voices Film Festival (CAVFF), a celebration of Central American cinema, storytelling, culture, and community taking place September 12–13, 2026, at with a virtual Transborder experience continuing September 13–20 CAVFF was created to build a platform where the diverse voices and stories of Central America and its diaspora can be seen, heard, and celebrated. Representing filmmakers and stories connected to all seven Central American countries, our inaugural program brings together films made across borders, generations, identities, and experiences. Throughout the weekend, audiences will experience film screenings, filmmaker Q&As, panels and conversations, live cultural and musical performances, community organizations, local vendors, food, and special programming designed to bring filmmakers and audiences together. From stories created within Central America to those shaped by migration, memory, identity, reconnection, joy, and the diasporic experience, CAVFF celebrates the complexity of a region that has too often been overlooked or generalized within mainstream media. More than a film festival, CAVFF is a gathering place, connecting Central American filmmakers, artists, industry professionals, organizations, and communities while creating new opportunities for our stories to travel beyond borders. ??
