Chamber Foundation Presents $18,250 in Grants to Community Organizations

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation presented a total of $18,250 in grants to local organizations in October at the monthly Business After Hours hosted by Dave & Buster’s.

Heather Cochran, Chair of the Community Foundation presented checks to the following organizations: Boys & Girls of Hollywood for their music program; Childhelp for expansion and enhancement of services provided at Hollywood Resource & Training Center; Greenways Arts Alliance for its Institute of the Arts; Los Angeles Youth Network for their Shelter Program; NewFilmmakers L.A. for their expansion of Core program on location; L.A. City College Foundation for books, lab materials and required classroom texts for students; We can Pediatric Brain Tumor Network for transportation costs to a family camp for Spanish speaking individuals; and LA Contemporary Exhibition (LACE) for summer group discussions and events at gallery.

The Foundation accepts grant applications twice a year with the deadline being end of May and end of October.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation is an organization within the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce that promotes outreach and the well-being of the non-profit organizations within the community. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation achieves its goal by awarding grants to support and advance the educational, cultural and economic interests of the Hollywood community. The Foundation is unique because, as part of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, it illustrates the success of a business advocacy group giving financial assistance to the community that it serves, namely the charities that are members of the Hollywood Chamber.
