USC Professor of Urban Planning to Keynote Economic Development Summit at ArcLight, June 22nd

One of the two keynoters at the 2017 Hollywood Economic Development Summit, taking place on Thursday, June 22nd, at the ArcLight Hollywood, is a professor in the USC Department of Urban Planning. Dr. David Sloane studies the evolution of cities through the lens of cultural landscapes, urban planning, food and health care systems. He is expected to apply his knowledge to Hollywood as a working case of revitalization.

As a professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Spatial Analysis within the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California, he researches the history of urban institutions, including commemorative traditions and medical facilities. In 2012, he edited Planning Los Angeles, an examination of urban planning and policy issues about Southern California. Dr. Sloane received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Syracuse University, all in history.

The theme for this year's conference is "Building a Livable Hollywood". Also keynoting the conference will be Vince Bertoni, Director of Planning for the City of Los Angeles. Tickets for the 2017 Summit are $50 if reserved no later than June 19th.

The Chamber’s most popular annual publication, the Hollywood Development Update for 2017, will also be distributed at the conference with information about 92 projects in the pipeline for Hollywood.
